Responding to reports this week that Russian soldiers were captured inside Ukraine, some helpful members of Canada’s North Atlantic Treaty Organization delegation offered advice that might help prevent such mishaps in the future.
Reuters reported that troops from Russia suggested they were unaware that they had crossed the border into Ukraine, even amid growing speculation that the nation is looking for ways to further annex more of its neighboring country’s land.
“I did not see where we crossed the border,” detained soldier Ivan Milchakov reportedly claimed. “They just told us we were going on a 70-kilometer march over three days.”
The NATO delegates posted a tongue-in-cheek map on its Twitter account Wednesday in an effort to clear up any confusion.
