The President of the NAACP getting busted for coke to make his child support payments apparently isn’t news.

JoeForAmerica has more…

You’re not going to hear about this one from anywhere in the major media – maybe not even in Muncie.

Now if he was the pastor the large evangelical church, we suspect that would be different.

According to the IndyStar mister Miles sold cocaine to an undercover agent on three separate occasions.

The president of the local chapter of the NAACP was arrested Wednesday, accused of selling cocaine for a third time to an informant for the Delaware County Sheriff’s Drug Unit.

Timothy Wade Miles, 49, is also assistant director of transportation for MITS, and police reports indicate he was in a vehicle owned by the local bus service when he sold the cocaine. One of the transactions occurred in Westside Park as children played nearby, authorities said.

At least Miles had a good reason for getting into the cocaine business. He’s apparently solid family man who is concerned about his children’s welfare. Really.

Miles later allegedly acknowledged he had gone into cocaine trafficking to raise funds to pay court-ordered child support. He told authorities he routinely bought the drug for $1,250 an ounce and sold it for twice that, reports said.

See. Now we don’t know how much his child support was, and we don’t know how much money he made as assistant director of transportation in Muncie. But we’re sure everyone will agree that Miles’ heart was in the right place. Or not.

It’s going to be interesting to see what happens to Mr. Miles. Will the Race Industry rally around him? Will Al Sharpton hold rallies in Muncie? And will Miles actually go to jail? It does appear that he’s now unemployed.

We do find it interesting that white pastors of large churches or small time conservative politicians who get caught in an indiscretion seem to routinely get at least thirty minutes of fame from the national news media. Fingers are pointed and “hypocrisy” is shouted from the rooftops.

Catch the president of an NAACP chapter dealing drugs, and we hear…

Nothing from the national media.

We are perfectly willing to admit that Mr. Miles probably shouldn’t be a national story. But then again neither should those other folks we mentioned above. Were not interested in hauling out tar and feathers, were perfectly willing to let Muncie’s criminal justice system do its job. All were looking for is a little less bias in the national media.

We won’t be turning blue holding our breath…
