Police in Sandy Springs, just north of Atlanta, are investigating reports of an active shooter at The Art Institute of Atlanta.
UPDATE: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting:
At the same time the possible shots were heard, the power went off in the building, Sandy Springs spokeswoman Forrest Bohannon said. Police believe it is possible an elevator door slamming shut was mistaken for the shots.
As a precaution, police have evacuated the building and are searching for a possible victim.
There is no confirmation at this time.
Witnesses tell CBS46 there is a heavy police presence at the facility. Several people on social media have reported that their buildings are on lockdown as a result of the investigation.
