An elementary school near the Georgia state line is being evacuated following an active shooter situation.

At least three people have been injured in connection with a shooting at Townville Elementary School in Anderson County, according to scanner traffic. EMS and LifeFlight are responding to the scene along with units from multiple law enforcement agencies.
A LifeFlight helicopter with at least one patient aboard was seen leaving the scene.
The coroner said that a man was dead near the school and the death is possibly related to the incident at the school, reporter Mike Ellis from the Independent Mail reported on Twitter. The second scene was on Osborne Road about a mile and a half from the school in Townville.
Medshore reported that three people were treated and transported from the scene.
The incident was first reported shortly after 2 p.m., according to reports on social media. Witnesses on social media reported seeing dozens of emergency vehicles speeding up Highway 24 toward the school. Units from multiple law enforcement agencies were on their way to the scene, including the Highway Patrol, Anderson city, Anderson County and Oconee County.
Sheila Cole, spokeswoman for Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, believed they have someone in custody, but is awaiting on confirmation.
The school has been closed and evacuated, according to scanner traffic. Students are being taken to Oak Dale Baptist Church, behind Townville Elementary.
A medic has been called to the back of the school and one suspect is believed to be in custody. The Coroner’s Office said two children were shot with nonlife-threatening injuries.
Townville Elementary School is in Anderson County District 4. It has 286 students in pre-kindergarten through 6th grade. The school is at 105 Townville School Road, off Highway 24 near Lake Hartwell and the Georgia state line.
