10-Year-Old Kneels for Pledge of Allegiance, so Look What New Black Panthers do

Sklya Madria, a fifth grader at Alexander Middle School in Texas, has decided she will kneel during the Pledge of Allegiance to protest the National Anthem. You read that correctly – she’s protesting a song she isn’t even being made to listen to.

“When I heard the third verse of the national anthem, I decided that’s not right and he shouldn’t have wrote that,” said the 10-year-old, who also pointed out that Francis Scott Key owned slaves. Key penned the Star-Spangled Banner.

Madria’s coach and principal were unhappy with her for kneeling during the pledge, and rightfully so.

“He told me you should respect my flag, and respect my nation, and you should stand up for this pledge,” she told a local news affiliate. “He yelled at me. He sent me to the principal. The principal called my mother and called me disgusting for not standing up.”

So what did little Madria’s mother do to teach her daughter that disrespecting the country which affords her so much opportunity is very, very wrong? She called up the New Black Panthers to drum up support for the 10-year-old’s act of defiance.

“So when you talk about saying the pledge, it says with ‘freedom and justice for all?’ When in the hell is white America in this country given black folks freedom and justice for all?” said Quanell X, a New Black Panther leader.

A better question would be: What freedoms are “black folks” NOT given in America? Or, when are “black folks” DENIED justice? Riddle me that, Quanell.

Sadly, Skyla Madria is being raised by a mother who takes parenting advice from a hate group, and she will likely grow up to be just like them. Meanwhile, good men and women are dying for the freedoms Quanell X claims she is somehow denied. It’s all very twisted.
