New VIDEO Shows Terrorist Planting Bomb On Busy NY Street

This is the epitome of terror. Surveillance video shows how it was done…

People are walking, catching cabs, driving… Going about their business. None of them suspected that a terrorist was in their midst, carrying a portable bomb. Things were bad, but surveillance video shows that they could have been much worse.

This video, obtained by NBCNews New York, shows terrorist Rahami leaving the bomb inside a rolling suitcase and simply abandoning it on the sidewalk, across from a busy hotel. Later on, two men walk up to the bag, take out the bomb, and walk away with the suitcase. Officials say their removal of the bomb inadvertently disabled the device, enabling investigators to discover Rahami’s identity.

The bomb was actually one of several.

On Saturday, an explosion along the route of the Marine’s 5K Charity run, Semper Five occurred in New Jersey and prompter a lockdown within the whole area. The explosion occured around 9:30 am in Seaside Park, a town near Jersey Shore, when an explosion device was hidden in a trash bin. Investigators have described the device as “pipe bomb-type device.”

According to state police, the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, have joined local police in the investigation. Attorney General Christopher Porrino said, “We are grateful that nobody was injured, but this is a serious act of violence against the people of New Jersey. We will not rest until we find the person or persons responsible.”

Upon further investigation, authorities found three bombs, all constructed with shrapnel.

The two undetonated shrapnel devices were connected to the exploded bomb, but it appears it “didn’t do the damage it was supposed to,” Al Della Fave, a spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Here is more on Rahami’s arrest:

After the explosions in Manhattan and Elizabeth, NJ, a man is in custody after a shootout with the police.

Reportedly, two officers have been injured. One was shot, and another struck by a car, after responding to reports that an active shooter was firing at cars in Linden, NJ. Linden is just south of Elizabeth.

Police said the suspect was detained.  Sources told NBC News the suspect was identified as Rahami, a 28-year-old Elizabeth, NJ resident suspected in a series of explosions in New Jersey and New York over the weekend.

Officers also found a “suspicious package.” The bomb squad and explosive-sniffing dogs have been called in.
