It’s no shocker to anyone that Bruce Springsteen is no fan of Donald Trump. After all, he has been a flaming liberal for as long as anyone can remember. This year particularly, Springsteen has been very active in the political world do everything he can to ensure a Hillary victory. At a recent concert stop, Springsteen was handed something from a fan with a request on it. He did not hesitate to read it out loud.
According to Breitbart:
During a recent concert tour stop at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Bruce Springsteen granted a song request from a concertgoer who handed the rocker a pocket Constitution with the words “F*ck Trump” written on it.
“Well, somebody gave me a copy of the Constitution of the United States,” Springsteen told the crowd of roaring fans, in a video posted to Twitter via Marianne Sughrue’s Periscope. “It does say ‘F*ck Trump’ on the front of it. And this was his request.”
Springsteen then dedicated his song “Long Walk Home,” from his 2007 album Magic, to the concertgoer who handed him the profanity-filled document.
It’s been a politically active year for “The Boss.”
In April, the E Street Band frontman cancelled a concert in North Carolina to “fight against prejudice and bigotry.” Springsteen’s protest was over the state’s passage of the Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act, also known as the LGBT “bathroom” law.
Later that month in Michigan, the rocker criticized that state’s lawmakers over a similar bill. “We hope the bill doesn’t pass, ’cause we love playing in Michigan,” Springsteen said.
On Monday, Springsteen announced a nine-date book tour for his forthcoming tome Born to Run, in which the 66-year-old rocker opens up about his lifelong battle with depression. The book tour begins in Freehold, New Jersey before making its way through New York City and then on to the West Coast.
I really wish celebrities and musicians would stay out of the political arena. It just ruins everything for the fans. What do you think?
