KANSAS CITY, Mo. —
A plume of strange neon-green colored water seen in Indian Creek Tuesday is from an effort to follow a sewage overflow.
A bicyclist reported seeing the green substance in the water just south of the intersection of 103rd Street and State Line Road.
Brian Kaufman said he saw the water this morning and it looked white. When he returned in the afternoon, it was a neon green color.
Kansas City Water Services Department spokeswoman Brooke Givens said crews are using the dye to check the progression of a sewer overflow from 108th Street and State Line Road.
Givens said the dye is harmless to the water and environment.
