Do you think this large image is PATRIOTIC, MOTHERLY, or just plain WEIRD?
Most consider voting a patriotic duty.
Many other consider breastfeeding a motherly duty.
Canadian-born singer Alanis Morissette gained the right to vote in the United States in 2005, and now, in 2016, chose to participate in early voting.
Morissette’s daughter, Onyx Solace Morissette-Treadway, was born in early July, and the proud mother is still breastfeeding.
Morissette decided that she is so proud of her vote, and the breastfeeding of her second child, that she pulled out her smartphone to document the moment on Instagram.
Take a look:
Her hashtag, #even whenyoucantleavethehouse, indicates that perhaps she voted early by absentee ballot.
If so, how did she get the sticker? Perhaps a family member or friend gave it to her.
In any event, we are glad that Alanis Morissette enjoys her right to vote, and also glad that she did not fire off this selfie while in the voting booth. As you likely have heard, voting booth photographs are prohibited in most states.
It is likely that breastfeeding is not happening much in voting booths these days, but who knows!
Way to go, Alanis. We are proud of you!
In other news, are you aware of the controversy surrounding digital voting machines? Some do not trust the machines, as they feel that they can be easily hacked, or that a digital recount would be nearly impossible to trust. Some reports indicate that voting machines are manufactured by companies linked to billionaire left-winger George Soros. Soros is known to be a Hillary Clinton supporter.
Do you share these concerns? Many are requesting paper ballots for these reasons.
If any of these things bother you, request a paper ballot.
Like Alanis Morissette, vote with pride!
