As many fellow Americans have been counting down the days until Obama’s last day in office, we may not see him go anytime soon. Most Presidents on their way out usually lay low with little political activity, but not Obama. He want’s to continue to make people’s lives miserable by sticking to politics. Obama is “looking forward to cooking all sorts of good stuff up.”
Im sure the American people will be so thrilled and can’t wait.
CT had this to say:
You probably thought that in 60 days time, on Jan. 20, President-elect Donald Trump would take over at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and Barack Obama would do what most former presidents do — which is to stay out of the political fray.
Think again. It seems that President Obama will be the houseguest that simply won’t go away. Unfortunately, unlike the movie “What About Bob?”, it’s going to have more significant implications than the madcap hijinks of Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss.
A report from The New York Times detailed that if Trump tries to undo what Obama did in office, he plans to jump back into American politics.
“White House aides say they expect the president to try to refrain from criticism during the transition because of his belief in the importance of a courteous and dignified transfer of power,” The Times reported. “But while the president holds out hope that he might influence Mr. Trump, he has made it clear that once out of office he will not remain silent if Mr. Trump goes too far in undoing his legacy.”
Quotes from Obama himself seemed to underline this.
“I’m going to be constrained in what I do with all of you until I am again a private citizen,” he told Organizing for Action, his political movement group. “But that’s not so far off.”
“You’re going to see me early next year, and we’re going to be in a position where we can start cooking up all kinds of great stuff to do.”
New York Magazine said that the comments were made during a conference call last week.
