Engaged Couple Doesn’t Want Wedding Gifts, Registers for Children’s Toys Instead

Atlanta radio personality,Kristin Klingshirn,  recently got engaged to her sweetheart of ten years, Bart Mattingly and was completely excited to start all her wedding plans. Having been together for over 10 years, the couple found that they had everything they could possibly need and decided to do something extra special with their gift registry.

The couple announced that they would be donating their wedding registry items to Bert’s Big Adventure (BBA), a nonprofit organization that provides a magical, all-expenses-paid, five-day trip to Walt Disney World for children with chronic and terminal illnesses, as well as their families.

Kristin told Fox 5 that she and Bart went to Target with some children, all grabbed scanners, and just had a blast. They registered for tons of gifts, and so far have already received over 3,000 toys.

“The Bert Show family has responded tremendously, exceeded every expectation,” said Klingshirn. “We are blown away by their generosity.” As of Tuesday night, the total number of purchased gifts was at 3,260. Klingshirn and her soon-to-be husband have shared more than a dozen “box opening party” videos on Facebook, thanking everyone for purchasing items on the registry.
