A man in Utah is facing charges after he punched a 12-year-old boy in the face so hard that he broke the boy’s jaw.
According to charging documents, Andrew Scott Ross has been charged with child abuse after he allegedly broke a 12-year-old’s jaw in two different places.
Authorities say the 12-year-old and an 11-year-old were throwing rocks by the railroad tracks near Kearns High School back in September, when Ross ran outside and started screaming at them.
Ross, 26, reportedly thought the children were throwing rocks directly at his house, but even when they promised they weren’t, he became enraged.
That’s when Ross reportedly threw a hard punch at the 12-year-old, breaking his jaw to the point that it had to be wired shut.
When the child spoke with police later, he reportedly picked Ross out of a photo lineup and identified him as the man who broke his jaw.
As it turns out, Ross was just let out of prison in August and already had at least four parole violations at the time.
According to KUTV, Ross is currently on the run and authorities are asking for help in tracking him down immediately.
