According To These Feminists, The ‘Burn Your Bra’ Movement Is Still Alive [PHOTOS]

Now THIS is a protest I can really get behind!

Bra burning protests started at the Miss America 1969 pageant. 400 feminists, organized by New York Radical Women, used a so-called “Freedom Trash Can” to dispose of feminine products, pots, false eyelashes, mops, and other items. The event was compared to Vietnam Protests that included the burning of draft cards. The term “bra burning” originated at Miss America 1969, though the term was not completely accurate.

Can you imagine if those women had been given access to Instagram and Twitter? Fortunately, for the modern feminist, and those of us who like to look at them, social media now exists. Take a look at the no-bra movement now:
