Brit Hume Blasts Washington Post On Melania Trump Story

I like to see when network news personalities do the right thing, and Brit Hume, veteran reporter of Fox News, just went up 100 points on my scale of respectability.

(As reported at: TheBlaze)

Fox News’ veteran anchor Brit Hume was rather displeased with a story he saw in the Washington Post Friday, and he wasn’t too shy to admit just how he felt on his Twitter account.

Hume didn’t elaborate, but it’s likely that he thought the story was overly critical of first lady Melania Trump over a trifling detail on the White House website.

The website’s bio about the first lady included a sentence detailing the jewelry lines she had sold on the cable shopping network QVC:

The original passage read: “Melania is also a successful entrepreneur. In April 2010, Melania Trump launched her own jewelry collection, ‘Melania™ Timepieces & Jewelry,’ on QVC,” the site read.

But after some criticism, the line was removed and re-written:

The updated version of the site now says: “Melania is also a successful entrepreneur. In April 2010, Melania Trump launched her own jewelry collection.”

Hume appeared to be generally fed up with exaggeration and hyperbole among critics of President Donald Trump, as he called comparisons to Nazi Germany on Twitter “Trump Derangement Syndrome” and retweeted Fox News contributor Marc Thiessen’s admonishment to “shut up with the Hitler references.”

Hume had been such a critic of Trump during the primaries that he became a target of the real estate mogul on his Twitter account. The Post had been criticized before for running with a story that falsely claimed Russians had hacked into the U.S. electrical grid.
