Rob Schneider just found himself in the middle of a feud between President-elect Donald Trump and Democratic Georgia Rep. John Lewis.
On Monday, the 53-year-old actor tweeted at the congressman that Martin Luther King Jr. led with peace rather than “anger or hurt” after Lewis announced that he would not be attending Trump’s inauguration and said that he didn’t see Trump as a “legitimate president.”
“Rep. Lewis. You are a great person,” Schneider tweeted. “But Dr. King didn’t give in to his anger or his hurt. That is how he accomplished & won Civil Rights.”

The actor was quickly attacked from fellow entertainers for his response to the civil rights activist.
. @RobSchneider It's too bad Martin Luther King himself isn't alive, so that you, Rob Schneider, could lecture him on Civil Rights.

Lewis told Chuck Todd on Friday that he believes in “forgiveness,” but didn’t see Trump as a “legitimate president” and announced that he would not be attending the Inauguration.
