She put up a great battle, but ultimately lost. Either way, she put a smile on many people’s faces.

A small dog faced a big challenge on an icy driveway in upstate New York.
The Lhasa Apso, named Veda, tried to hang onto the ground in Binghamton.
However, the 10-year-old pooch failed to find a solid grip, and the adorable animal slid backwards down the ice-covered drive towards the street.

During her trip, Veda tried to get up – but quickly ended up back on the ground.
An off-camera voice called for another, much larger dog to ‘Go get her’ – and thet canine walked down the driveway with comparative ease.
Brandon Mooney posted the video on Instagram last week.
He wrote: ‘Icy Morning in Binghamton NY.. I had to record my dogs trying to get up the driveway with a 1/4″ sheet of ice this morning!’
Mooney told WBNG: ‘I wasn’t expecting her to follow me. Usually she goes around the corner and does her business.
‘I turned around to take pictures of the ice to send to my girlfriend when I see her starting to slide down. It was like slow motion, her going down the driveway.’
He said: ‘With the driveway as steep as it is there was no catching her unless you wanted to slide down with her.’
