What this teenager did to a cat will turn your stomach

There is a special place in Hell for people who abuse animals. I don’t even like cats, or should I say, I have serious allergies to cats, but not in a million years could I see myself dousing another living creature in gasoline and setting it on fire.

They say that the torture of animals is the beginning of a long road that leads to becoming a serial killer.

A teenager has handed himself in after setting a defenceless kitten on fire.

Noah Riley, 19, told police that he was only confessing as he’d seen so many Facebook posts regarding the cat and its welfare that he couldn’t take it anymore and ‘wanted to get the issue resolved’.

The cat, which has been named Phoenix since the incident, was found bound in rope in Indiana on Wednesday. She had been doused in gasoline, set on fire and a firecracker had been placed on her head. Luckily, it didn’t go off.

Vets believe that the cat only survived the attack because she was placed in a puddle which basically helped to calm the flames.

Retired firefighter Steve Wright found the cat after he saw flames coming from a field located around the back of his house. Mr Wright said: “It was very, very quiet. And it was moving slightly but being bound it couldn’t move much.”

Phoenix was taken to Purdue Animal Hospital and faces a long recovery. Animal Welfare League Of Montgomery County Indiana is currently paying her vet bills and updating its followers with regular updates on her progress.

It released a statement which read: “Your words, thoughts and prayers have helped energise our exhausted staff in this incredibly difficult time.

“She is a fighter and will keep fighting for her.”

Let’s hope he faces the full force of the law.
