(Scroll down for video) A teacher in Utah, who is serving time in prison for raping her students, told a parole board that she suffered from low self esteem when she committed the crimes.
37-year-old Brianne Altice of South Weber, acknowledged that she was wrong, and her students were not to blame for the sexual relationships.
During her trial, Altice claimed that her 16-year-old student pursued the sexual relationship and she couldn’t resist him. In court, Altice admitted to have sex with three boys, a 16 year old and two 17 year olds.
She has been sentenced to serve up to 30 years in prison.
Altice asked a parole board to release her early from prison, saying that she learned from her mistakes and will never work as a teacher.
She blamed her low self esteem for pursuing sexual relationships with minors. She also promised to live with her parents and work as an office assistant if she is released from prison.
Her husband filed for divorce and has custody of their two children. The parole board denied her request to be released and will reconsider in two years.
