Mother Uses Steam Iron And Power Power Tool To Torture Her Kids

DENVER –  Kinyaita Davis was accused of horrific abuse against her two children, reportedly injuring them with a steam iron and a power drill over a period of years.

The report says the suspect’s sister had had enough of what was going on and actually turned her sibling in to authorities. The woman, who has not been identified said, “It was a hard decision doing what I did for the kids. But, at the same time, it was easier for what I’ve seen personally as far as bruises and burns.”

DHS is said to have previously investigated Davis’s actions on multiple occasions, too.

Fortunately, Davis’s two children, ages eleven and twelve, are still with us. Not so Jayvion, who died in July; just-announced autopsy results reveal that he suffered burns over 15 percent of his body in addition to a slew of other injuries. Jayvion’s mother, Candice Lampley, and her boyfriend, Delonta Crank, have been charged in the boy’s death, and questions about why DHS personnel missed warning signs despite six earlier filings about possible mistreatment led Denver mayor Michael Hancock to form a team to examine the agency’s policies and practices.

Worst of all, though the sister knew about the emotional, mental and alleged physical abuse the kids endured, the state of Colorado may have had an idea, too. KDVR said Denver Health and Human services had been to the home at least three times over the last few years. The sister claims the state knew about the abuse but they didn’t do anything to help the children.

Health and Human Services spoke out to KDVR. Spokeswoman Julie Smith said, “No child should ever suffer abuse or neglect and our child welfare team takes all allegations reported to us very seriously.”

Smith added that they cannot comment on this case or any case specifically because of the right to privacy for each case to protect the families and children.
