Woman Filmed Herself Sexually Abusing 1yo Son And Sells It Online For $300

Krystal Harvey, 23, was sentenced to eight months of home detention after admitting to sexually violating her 1-year-old son and producing the offensive one minute-long video at the request of a pedophile.

She had applied for permanent name suppression at Manukau District Court the victim’s paternal grandparents and the baby’s father wanted her to be named in public and the judge said it would be wrong to go against their wishes.

“It’s something you’re going to have to live with,” Judge Phil Recordon told Harvey.

The horrible incident happened in August 2014 after a 21-year-old Christ church man contacted her online and the pair formed a somewhat weird bond. They discovered the video when they were investigating the man, who is before the court on 16 charges.

“How can a mother, supposed to be protecting her child from the pedophiles of the world, expose him to them,” the child’s grandmother said.

Harvey had admittedly told police that she did it for the money and bought a laptop with the $300 given to her.

Judge Recordon said the breach of trust was “at the highest level a mother could be involved with” but was not convinced jail was the answer.

“You’re someone who very clearly has never been able to form an attachment with anyone. Your life has really been a mess until now,” he told Harvey, stating that she was highly vulnerable because of her own turbulent upbringing. He said Harvey needed psychological rehabilitation, which was best taken within the community.
