Brittany Bakenhaster was 3-year-old when she was near death because of severe epilepsy. Knowing she was about to die, the doctors let her and her mother go home so little Brittany could pass in peace. Miraculously, she was visited and healed by Jesus.
One morning, Jamie, Brittany’s mother, found her daughter on the floor of her bedroom gurgling and shaking when she was having a grand mal seizure. It is something that Jamie was familiar with herself.
Jamie took control of her disorder with medication, but they started to lose hope when conventional measures failed for Brittany. She was also afraid that Brittany would ever live a regular life or even live.
“I blamed myself a lot. I gave my daughter this sickness,” she told the Christian Broadcasting Network.
Brittany had to wear a helmet to protect her during her seizures and took costly medication to help her. Sometimes, the Backenhasters found it difficult to find the funds for the medication. The stress of having a sick child and financial problems took its toll on them.
The little girl’s brain scans showed that her entire brain was seizing, and doctors said there is nothing they could do for her so they told Jamie to take her home to let her be comfortable in her last moments.
Jamie spent all night praying for her child. Surprisingly, in the morning Brittany began to respond for the first time in a year. She uttered the words, “Jesus! Jesus!”
Brittany shared her deathbed encounter with Jesus with vivid detail to her mother Jamie. The doctors were amazed with the turnaround, gave her a clean bill of health the next day.
