According to reports, Jair Nilton Cardoso showed up on the fourth floor of the building on April 10, held a sign on a window and loudly begged for her hand in marriage.

Secret Service agents recognized the man as the one who had repeatedly tried to get into the White House in the past. Based on the reports, they told him to leave the Tribeca building and to leave her alone.

Clearly the man is stubborn and did not get the message.

Based on the reports, two days after the incident, Cardoso followed Malia out of a building in the West Village where she also interns.

Secret Service agents on April 13 went to Cardoso’s Brooklyn apartment and interviewed him. They concluded he had psychiatric issues and took him to a Brooklyn hospital for evaluation.

Five days after the interviewed of Cardoso, Secret Service agents went to the First Precinct stationhouse on Ericsson Place in lower Manhattan and reported him.

Cops are mulling whether to file stalking or harassment charges against him.

Cardoso has no prior criminal record in the city, police said. He could not be reached for comment.

Malia, the older of Obama’s two daughters, attended the Sundance Film Festival in January. At the time, she was reportedly going to begin an internship with the film producer Harvey Weinstein and the Tribeca Film Center.

A representative for the offices of Barack and Michelle Obama declined to comment.

The NYPD referred a reporter to the Secret Service, which declined to comment.

“As a matter of practice the Secret Service does not comment on the means and methods of protective operations or investigations,” a spokesman said.

Malia started the internship at The Weinstein Company in February after spending a family vacation in Palm Springs, Calif.
