Famous Fast Food Restaurant Warns Customers Credit Card Info May Have Been Compromised [VIDEO]

One of the country’s most fast food restaurants has just issued a scary warning to customers. Upon further investigation, Chipotle announces customers may have been victims of credit card theft at nearly all of their nationwide locations.

Watch the video below for more information about this event.

According to Chipotle’s investigation, the malware was found active on the point of sale devices at its restaurants between March 24 and April 18. The malware “searched for track data” read from the magnetic stripe of a card while being processed by the point of sale device, as reported by Newsweek.

The malware was reportedly able to steal cardholder names along with card numbers, expiration dates, and verification codes. Chipotle has announced they have removed the malware from its systems.

Chipotle also noted that locations in all 50 states were compromised. According to Newsweek, Chipotle has also published a tool online to help customers determine if their information may have been compromised. The tool allows a person to check if a restaurant location they visited was infected by the malware.

So, does this scam affect you? Did you eat a burrito during the dates they listed?
