Her husband has listened live as the assault happened. Cercone withdraws $400 from her account but the criminal was still unsatisfied with the amount.  He wanted to get more out of her, Owens demanded her take him back to her house. His plan was to get valuable things inside her home.

When they arrive at Cercone house, she saw her house was surrounded by the group of the police officer and she was dragged out of the car to safety while the criminal is still inside. The husband of Cercone reported the incident to the police and stayed on the line to give directions as to their location.

The criminal tried to escape from the police by making a run but was quickly caught up. According to ABCnews he was charged with robbery with a firearm, possession of a weapon or ammo by a convicted Florida felon, false imprisonment of an adult, and kidnapping with intent to commit or facilitate the commission of a felony.

The Bluetooth device definitely saves her life. Based on the interview of Local10 News, she said:

“Always carry your phone. Always carry somebody on your ear (on your Bluetooth). Wherever you go, tell them where you’re going, because sometimes you believe that nobody has to know what you do and nobody has to know where you’re going and doing or your decisions in life, but you always need somebody to know where you are.”
