Democrat Running For the House is Accused of Stealing $803,000 of Taxpayer Money

This is an extremely unusual case in that democrats usually wait until they are in office before stealing large sums of money through fraud. I guess she is just a natural go-getter. Shaun Brown, 58, appeared in a Norfolk courtroom last week and denied any wrongdoing. She says she will fight the charges and that she will be exonerated. Our prisons are already full of democrats who said that prior to their convictions. Her next appearance in court will be on January 12th, when she will enter a not guilty plea.

U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program has a program where they pay nonprofits to feed poor hungry children. The problem seems to be that Brown had told employees to inflate the number of meals served so she could put in for a higher reimbursement fee than she was entitled to. The government says the amount of the overcharges amounts to $803,000.

From Fox News

Earlier in December, Brown filed a suit against the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Virginia Department of Health and others, alleging discrimination against African-Americans, delayed payments, falsified reimbursements and claims for reimbursement, the Daily Press reported.

She and her mother, Jenever Brown, who co-founded the nonprofit, are seeking $10 million in damages, the report said.

In 2016, Brown ran against now-U.S. Rep. Scott W. Taylor, a Republican, for Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District seat and lost by 23 points, the Washington Post reported.

In July, Brown told the Virginian-Pilot that she intended to run for the seat again in 2018.

You know, it takes a lot of chutzpah to sue the US taxpayers for 10 million after you stole $803,000 from them. No doubt, she would fit right in with the democratic caucus.
