For the past couple weeks since the tragic shooting in Parkland, Florida the gun control debate has been heating up and it does not appear to be cooling down anytime soon. People on both sides of the coin have been arguing their case, but none as aggressively as the gun-grabbers on the left. In true liberal fashion, these leftists have been busy propping up survivors from the shooting who are willing to tout the gun control argument tugging at the heartstrings of the public.
One of those leftist media anti-gun darlings from the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting is David Hogg who has been blasting the NRA and Republicans since the massacre. Now, this liberal mouthpiece has taken his anti-gun rhetoric one step too far by defending the resource officer who hid during the rampage that resulted in the deaths of 17 people.
According to The Blaze:
David Hogg, a survivor of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School who has been an outspoken critic of firearms since defended the indefensible during an interview on MSNBC over the weekend.
Hogg defended his school resource officer, Broward County sheriff deputy Scot Peterson, who failed to act while a shooter murdered 17 people inside his school. Instead, Peterson stood outside in a stairwell with his weaponed drawn, according to a student who witnessed him.
What did Hogg say?
Hogg said that he had many interactions with Peterson and described him as “very conservative.”
“He — just like every other police officer out there at heart — is a good person,” Hogg said. “He didn’t take action in this event, and I can’t explain why…there are no words to explain why he wouldn’t take action to take out this individual.”
“But I think it’s a good example of if he didn’t take action and supposedly four others didn’t, I mean, who does? I mean, who wants to go down the barrel of an AR-15 even with a Glock [handgun]?” the student added.
“And I know that’s what these police officers are supposed to do, but they’re people too. They need to worry about themselves as well as all the other students,” Hogg explained.
