ABC Loses Out & Fox Wins ‘Bigly’ As “Last Man Standing” Fans Get Huge News

Kirsters Baish| We all watched as Trump supporting comedienne Roseanne Barr made her comeback to television with the reboot of her hit television show, “Roseanne.” The ABC premiere was so much bigger than anyone could have imagined.

Variety reported that during the March 27 one hour premiere of “Roseanne” reached 27.3 million viewers. This is an increase of 8.8 million viewers over the Live and Same Day total of 18.5 million. This is the biggest one week lift that any show on any network has ever seen, breaking the previous record of 7.9 million was set by ABC’s debut of their show “The Good Doctor,” which took place in September. “Roseanne” also rose to an 8.1 rating among adults ages 18-49 and an increase of 2.9 points over the Live+Same Day rating with a 5.2.

The show has been doing well since its premiere, and at this point Americans are even watching reruns of the show constantly. The reason? Clearly Roseanne is a funny woman, and the writing on the show has always been strong. There is much more to the show and why viewers are taking to it than it just being funny. It is the only show on network television that doesn’t bash President Trump and his supporters. “Roseanne” embraces the middle class and shows a different view than most television shows portray.

Americans took to the show and to Roseanne herself immediately. Other networks are now starting to take note.

We’ve heard buzzing about the possibility of Tim Allen’s conservative television show, “Last Man Standing” coming back on the air after it was pulled from ABC’s lineup… likely because of its political messages. When the show was taken off the air, ratings were actually doing well, so it had nothing to do with numbers.

From The Smoke Room:

While the network famously canceled Tim Allen’s “Last Man Standing” last year, despite its six season success and remarkably high ratings, it looks like another network may be eyeing a reboot.

“The sixth — and final — season of the show, which skews more toward a blue-collar audience, was the network’s second most-watched comedy with 8.1 million views, behind only the seemingly untouchable ‘Modern Family,’ which scored 8.7 million in the same year,” Fox News reported shortly after its cancellation.

Although ABC didn’t take the bait, its rival network Fox may be toying with the idea of scooping up the show and bringing it back for a seventh season.

The Hollywood Reporter claimsTim Allen may have already signed a deal with the network.

It’s obvious that ABC made a huge mistake letting the show go, and Tim Allen is going to make them wish they never had. With the support that “Roseanne” has gained, I can only imagine how many Americans are going to tune in to watch “Last Man Standing” if Fox brings it back.
