Earlier this week, Kino Jimenez, a 30-year-old man living near San Antonio, Texas, was taken into custody by local law enforcement officials for reportedly assaulting and stealing the property of Hunter Richard, a 16-year-old from Florida who was in town visiting friends. Apparently, Jimenez targeted the teen, who was eating at a Whataburger fast food restaurant, because he was wearing a “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) hat, which he ultimately stole.
Shockingly, though, while many were quick to condemn Jimenez’s reprehensible conduct, Marc Lamont Hill, a liberal commentator for CNN, went on Twitter and actually seemed to approve of the attack inside the restaurant. He claimed that MAGA hats “(deliberately) reflect a movement that conjures racism, homophobia, xenophobia, etc.” His reasoning, though, is not just utterly ridiculous, it’s absolutely sick. Yet despite this, there doesn’t really seem to be any outrage from the so-called “tolerant” left.
According to reports, Hill’s despicable comments began as a response to Van Lathan, a TMZ staffer, who tweeted a video of the assault against Richard and seemingly condoned Jimenez’s actions.
