Chuck Schumer has not stopped bashing Trump since he got into office and nothing has changed. Now, the House Minority Leader is slamming the president saying that he is angry that he was not consulted in the choosing the SCOTUS nominee, and that is not all.
Here is more from Biz Pac Review:
“In the old days, the president would consult with Republicans and Democrats in the Senate on a qualified judge and then after careful deliberation, nominate a jurist that could get bipartisan support,” the New York Democrat said.
“What we have here is the exact opposite,” he added. “The president has gone to two far out-of-the-mainstream, hard right groups, the Heritage Foundation and the Federalist Society, and asked them – not the Senate – to advise and consent on a Supreme Court nomination.”
And that is not the only complaint Chuckie had either. Schumer also blasted the pro-life stance of many people on Trump’s list and attacking Leonard Leo for advising the president on his potential picks.
“No one has been more dedicated to overturning Roe v. Wade than Leonard Leo,” he said.
“Whomever the president selects tonight,” Schumer warned, “if that nominee is from the pre-approved list selected by Leo and the Heritage Foundation, everyone ought to understand what it means for the freedom of women to make their own health care decisions and for the protection for Americans with preexisting conditions.”
Schumer is not planning on backing down and says he is geared up and ready for battle.
“I will oppose Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination with everything I have, and I hope a bipartisan majority will do the same,” he said, according to The Hill. “The stakes are simply too high for anything less.”
