Democratic leaders have no plans to host any large election night parties in Washington, D.C., leading some to conclude that it’s another sign the political party does not expect to fare well in Tuesday’s midterm elections.
“The DNC will not be holding any press events on Election Day. Thank you very much for your patience,” Democratic National Committee spokeswoman Evelyn Chang told the Washington Examiner.
Instead, according to the Examiner, a few Democratic leaders will simply only make themselves available to the media for comment.
The online political newspaper opined that it’s “a sign that they [the Democrats] expect heavy losses on election night.”
In contrast, the GOP, widely expected to gain control of the Senate Tuesday, will host an election night party at the top of D.C.’s iconic W Hotel.
