[VIDEO] Ferguson Police Met With Gunfire When Responding to Burglary Call

Shots were fired at police officers in Ferguson, Missouri, as they tried to arrest six people suspected of a break-in on Tuesday night, authorities said.

Officers say around 5:30 Tuesday evening, dispatchers got a call for a burglary in progress at 9163 West Florissant. The business located there, Beauty Town, had been burned during the unrest in the wake of the Michael Brown shooting.

When officers arrived at the scene, they told six people they were under arrest and began to take them into custody.

That’s when officers say a round of shots was fired at them from the Sharondale Apartments, located behind the store. As they ducked to keep from getting hit, officers say a second round of gunfire came from across the street.

Officers say they called for backup and set up a perimeter around the scene. They were not able to find any weapons or suspects believed to be involved in the shooting.
