Law enforcement in El Paso, Texas have told local media that they are responding to reports of an active shooter at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center.
There is currently a heavy police presence in the area as the search for the suspect begins. Multiple police agencies are at the scene, as well as two helicopters and a SWAT team, according to local outlet KFOX14. Personnel from the Department of Homeland Securit, border patrol, and military police are also involved.
According to AP, Army base officials have confirmed that police are now searching for the suspected shooter. The individual reportedly opened fire at the Army clinic, though it is unclear whether anyone has been struck, injured, or killed.
Following reports of an active shooter, the facility was placed in lockdown.
