On Tuesday, the St. Louis County Police Department released surveillance video and pictures of looters connected to the riots that occurred in the aftermath of a grand jury’s decision to not indict a Ferguson police officer in the shooting death of an 18-year-old.
St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Bob McCulloch announced the grand jury’s decision on the night of November 24. Rioting and unrest occurred in Ferguson and surrounding neighborhoods in the hours following.
County police need help identifying the more than two dozen people seen stealing cigarettes, food, and other assorted items from the Phillips 66 gas station in the 1900 block of Chambers Road.
Investigators released the following timeline
16:38 – Suspect 1 breaks front door glass with jack and suspect 1 and suspect 3 enter store and steal ATM cash box (Suspect 1 identified as Leroy Allen from 14-62221)
23:40 – Suspect 4, 5, 6, and 7 enter and flee a short time later
23:41 – Suspect 8 and 9 enter, steal unknown items from ATM, and suspect 8 attempts to break the inter window with a jack before they flee
23:42 – Suspect 10 enters and flees shortly thereafter
23:54 – Suspect 11 enters then leaves. Suspect 12 and 13 enter and each throw rocks breaking interior windows. 12 and 13 then leave in black passenger vehicle.
02:00 – Suspect 15 enters the business, breaks the soda machine, then kicks the inner glass door to the counter multiple times but it does not break. He then leaves and comes back with Suspect 16. Suspect 15 and 16 then try to make entry by kicking the inner door multiple times. Suspect 15 then tries to unsuccessfully steal microwave.
02:36 – Suspects 17, 18, and 19 enter and try to make entry into the inner door by kicking it and hitting it. They also try to steal from ATM but $ is already gone.
02:38 – Suspects 17, 18, and 19 enter with large rock and attempt numerous times to break inner door unsuccessfully. Suspects 20 and 21 enter. Suspect 21 has tire iron and also unsuccessfully tries multiple times to break inner glass door. Police (State Tact) interrupt it and everybody flees.
2:54 – Suspect 17 returns, steals a soda, and leaves. He comes back and again unsuccessfully tries to enter inner door. Flees again.
3:48 – Suspects 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25 enter the business. Suspects attempt to steal from ATM and attempt numerous times to make entry into inner door. Suspect 26 also enters with them and suspect 27 is lookout. Suspect breaks window leading to inner area but all flee as police show up.
8:47 – Suspect 28 enters business, reaches into behind the broken inner window, and steals unknown items before fleeing.
