Crowd honors Dr. King and protests police brutality and unequal treatment
Carrying a fake cardboard coffin, an umbrella with the face of Martin Luther King Jr., and pictures of people lost to violence, the crowd began at Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church, 2310 E. Linwood Blvd, at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
They marched a symbolic four mile march to represent the amount of time, approximately four hours, that Michael Brown was reportedly left lying in the street of Ferguson, Mo.
Over the weekend, some protesters warned they intended to be arrested for civil disobedience, according to Kansas City, Mo., Police Chief Darryl Forte.
While FOX 4 was live streaming the march, there were no evident arrests.
