Customer Orders Pizza, Then Police Officer Shows Up

A customer ordered a pizza and when he answered the knock at the door, the last thing he expected to see was a police officer standing there.

A police officer in Oswego, Illinois went above and beyond when he delivered a pizza to a local customer after arresting the delivery guy.

At around 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, the officer pulled over a vehicle with two occupants who had driven through a parking lot to avoid a red light. While questioning the driver, the officer discovered that he was a pizza delivery driver who was currently making a delivery. Before the officer could let him go, however, he spotted drug paraphernalia in the car.

Police_Pizza_featuredThe two suspects, 19-year-old Nicholas Parello and 19-year-old Dakota Albright, were arrested and taken into custody, but not before the officer decided he would give the customer the food they’d ordered. The customer lived only a few blocks away from the incident.

“Oswego Police arrested two male subjects at Chicago and Garfield for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. One of the subjects was en route to deliver a pizza to a local residence at the time of arrest. Seeing that the large pizza sitting in the passenger seat had no means of reaching its destination, an officer delivered the pizza to the specified address on the receipt attached,” authorities said in a statement posted on Facebook. “A confused resident accepted the pizza, and was very glad that the police were there to deliver the pizza, rather than talk to them.”

“We try to do all we can to help our residents,” Police Chief Jeff Burgner said, “ but I think this is the first time we’ve delivered a pizza.”
