Egypt will not stand the attacks from ISIS and announced this morning that they will be conducting air strikes against the militant Islamic group in neighboring Libya. One of their first strikes, conducted today, killed as many as 64 militants and destroyed training camps and weapons caches. This comes just a day after a disturbing video appeared with jihadists beheading 21 Coptic Christians.
“Avenging Egyptian blood and punishing criminals and murderers is our right and duty,” the Egyptian military said in a statement broadcasted on state television.
“Leaving the situation as it is in Libya without a firm intervention to curtail these terrorist organizations would be a threat to international peace and security,” the ministry said.
