FT. DEFIANCE, Ariz. (AP) — Officials on the Navajo Nation are advising people in about 100 homes in Ft. Defiance to remain inside as police search for a gunman reported in the area.
Tribal spokesman Deswood Tome says police were called early Friday afternoon about a man who shot at a tribal utility authority employee. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
Tome says a police tactical team is responding.
Meanwhile, residents of the Rio Puerco and Black Rock acres housing areas are being asked to stay inside and lock their doors.
