A woman was arrested, charged and convicted of murder after killing men and feeding their bodies to her pigs, prosecutors in Oregon said.
66-year-old Susan Monica of Jackson County, was found guilty of murdering two men and abusing their bodies by feeding them to the animals on her farm.
Circuit Judge Tim Barnack sentenced Monica, to a minimum of 50 years in prison. Prosecutors said that Monica killed 59-year-old Stephen Delicin, and a year later, she killed 56-year-old Robert Haney.
Monica claimed that she shot Delicino repeatedly in the head in self-defense, and he was eaten by her pigs before she buried the remains in her 20-acre farm.
Monica told investigators that Haney disappeared one day, and she found him dead a month later on her farm. Investigators also said that Monica, signed a birthday card “the sweetest murderer,” and gave it to a cellmate.
