It has been nearly 10 years since Natalee Holloway vanished during a senior class trip to Aruba.
In the decade since she disappeared, few clues have emerged. Her case has frustratingly gone cold; authorities are no closer to solving her disappearance – although prime suspect Joran van der Slootis serving a 38-year term in a Peruvian prison for the murder of college student Stephany Flores.
But now, a new witness has come forward, giving new hope that Holloway’s disappearance may eventually be solved.
The witness, Jurrien Dej Jong, tells Inside Edition that he was among the last people to see the Alabama high schooler.
“I saw Natalee Holloway on the last night she was alive,” Dej Jong tells Inside Edition. “I was the eyewitness.”

Natalee Holloway’s father was on “The Real Story” today, where he discussed the claims of an alleged witness to his daughter’s disappearance.
Jurrien de Jong said that he saw Joran van der Sloot carrying Holloway’s body on the night of her disappearance. He claimed that he didn’t come forward earlier because he had been involved in criminal activity.
Alleged Witness Emerges in Natalee Holloway’s 2005 Disappearance
De Jong goes on to say that he witnessed Joran van der Sloot, the main suspect in Natalee’s disappearance, carrying Natalee’s body on the night she disappeared. He states, “I saw that Joran was chasing Natalee into a small building under construction. In about five minutes he came out with Natalee in his arms, and slammed the body of Natalee on the floor, and then he made an opening in a crawl space…I knew she was dead.”
Dave Holloway said that he recently went to Aruba with a canine to search for his daughter, but that they weren’t permitted to search “restricted areas.”
Holloway told Gretchen Carlson that he went on Google Earth and pulled up the exact location where the alleged witness claims he saw van der Sloot and Natalee.
“Lo and behold, [the location] was under construction at the time,” Holloway told Carlson.
“Things are starting to make sense now,” he said of de Jong’s claims.
