A resident of Flint, Michigan, is accused of using a controversial torture tactic, once used to interrogate terrorists, on his girlfriend’s 4-year-old son has been charged with eight felony counts.
Michael Porter, 31, is facing felony charges after he was arrested for allegedly placing a pair of underwear over the face of his girlfriend’s 4-year-old son and then waterboarding him as a means of punishment.
He is also accused of restricting his girlfriend’s son with belts before leaning him over a stool and pouring water on his face, which was covered with underwear. Police said that Porter tortured the child because he ripped his backpack.
The woman’s 4-year-old son and his brother, 12, have since been removed from the home.
Porter is being held on $400,000 bond and is charged with five counts of second-degree child abuse, two counts of unlawful imprisonment, and one count of felonious assault.
