BAKER – A Crestview woman is charged with slitting her husband’s throat after a fight between him and her ex-husband.
The victim, 35-year-old Jerald Wade Parker, was in an argument with 30-year-old Nicole Cheri Parker while driving on the roadways through Holt, according to the arrest report.
Nicole’s ex-husband was also in the vehicle.
During the fight, Jerald got out of the vehicle to urinate and Nicole and the ex-husband left in the truck, the report said.
Jerald walked back to a Baker residence, where he and the ex-husband got into a fight just before midnight.
During the fight, Nicole walked up behind Jerald, “pulled his head back with her left hand,” and cut his throat with a folding knife, the report said.
She then cut him again under his left arm.
He began “bleeding profusely” and Nicole left the scene, the report said.
Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies responded.
Jerald was flown to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola in critical condition.
He stopped breathing at one point before being flown and was resuscitated by family members, who were applying pressure to the wounds, the report said.
Okaloosa County Sheriff’s spokesperson Michele Nicholson said no charges are currently being pursued against the ex-husband.
Nicole was brought in for questioning on Thursday morning and was charged with attempted murder Thursday afternoon.
