MADISON, Wis., July 8 (UPI) — Wisconsin capitol police evacuated the capitol building Wednesday after officials said it received a “credible bomb threat.”
“Due to a credible bomb threat, we are evacuating the State Capitol,” the Wisconsin Department of Administration said in a statement.
State Rep. Tyler August told the legislature to leave the building around 3:45 p.m. local time while they were in the middle of debating the state budget, WKBT-TV in La Crosse, Wis., reported.
Everyone in the building was asked to walk across the street while police investigate.

The Wisconsin State Capitol may have been evacuated due to a bomb threat …
… but Wisconsinites aren’t about to let that ruin a beautiful summer day:
Because priorities, dammit!
Roll out the barrel, that is.
And Wisconsin state legislators take it very seriously.
