Chicago police are still looking for leads after two men were shot to death in a moving car in East Garfield Park.
Someone on a sidewalk fired at the car Sunday morning, as it traveled southbound in the 500 block of North Avers.
Driver Darron Thomas, 32, and passenger Kenneth Wallace, 35, were shot multiple times and killed.
A 26-year-old woman was injured.
Police removed the car from the scene with the men’s bodies still inside. CPD says it wanted to preserve the crime scene, and didn’t want the spectacle of removing the bodies in full view of the public.
In a video posted to YouTube, a visibly upset crowd is gathered at what appears to be the crime scene. They are shouting and cursing as a tow truck hauls the car, with the bodies, away.
A voice can be heard in the video saying, “They towed the car with the body hanging out of the window. When did it become procedure to tow a car with a deceased body hanging out of a window with a repo truck? Only in Chicago.”
