A former Valley Brook police officer was jailed Tuesday, accused of sex crimes with an underage girl.
Courtney Breanne Schlinke, 21, was arrested on, and now formally charged with 33 complaints, including 16 counts of rape by instrumentation, nine counts of lewd acts with a child under 16, and eight counts of oral sodomy, records show.
According to Valley Brook police chief Michael Stamp, Schlinke joined the force in March. After quitting her job, she remained in the police academy until her arrest, he added.
She was also arrested on suspicion of burglary, but no charges were filed.
