Teen uses Siri to save life after being pinned under truck

(Scroll down for video) While many people use Siri for fun or convenience, one teenager is crediting Siri for saving his life.

18-year-old Sam Ray of Tennessee, was working under his truck in the driveway of his family home in Murfreesboro, when the jack he used to lift the truck fell.

Ray got pinned underneath the 5,000 pound 1998 black Dodge Dakota.

He said that his arm was above his head and his phone was in his back pocket.

Ray tried several times to call 911 by pressing his backside against the pavement. He then heard Siri asking him how it can help.

After a few tries, Ray was able to get his iPhone to call 911. The emergency dispatcher was able to use his cellphone signal to find his location.

Ray was trapped for nearly 40 minutes before he was finally rescued. He was airlifted to a nearby hospital.

He suffered broken ribs and a bruised kidney, Dr. Richard Miller of the Vanderbilt Trauma Center said. Ray has since recovered. He is very grateful to Siri and to the dispatcher who helped save his life.
