GOP Establishment Top Dogs Move To Destroy Trump/Keep Him Out Of Future Debates

Well, good luck with that! With Trump surging in every poll and now that he’s just within 6 points of Hillary, I dunno about keeping him out of future debates. And perhaps they’re not thinking ahead, thinking their actions through, thoroughly. Even if they can’t keep him out of the debates, do they really want the proverbial blood on their hands should he fall due to dirty tricks? The people are so ticked off at the establishment, do they think they will ever muster popular support for their candidates?

Conservative Tribune reported:Actually, the stated reason is that they want Trump to pledge not to run as a third-party candidate. If he doesn’t, the RNC says, no more debates for Trump.

How they could possibly make this into a binding agreement is really beyond me, but apparently RNC Chairman Reince Priebus is now forcing candidates “to pledge that they will not make a third-party run” and said that “(t)hose who do not pledge might not get an invite to future Republican candidate debates.”

Of course, no other major Republican candidate has the resources or the independent support to make a third-party run aside from Trump. It’s sort of like if Priebus had made all candidates take a pledge that “they won’t talk about their extensive careers in neurosurgery at any time during the campaign,” or that “any candidates whose first names make it sound like they were named after a famous libertarian novelist must not have curly hair or they’ll be excluded from future debates.”

GOP Establishment is desperate to hold on to control.

There’s no way, of course, that such an agreement would be legally binding, and it’s unlikely that a Trump candidacy that couldn’t win the Republican nomination could conceivably compete as a third-party candidate.

So what’s this all about? Control. The Republican establishment wants to prove that it can control Donald Trump, that it can make him one of them when push comes to shove.
