In case you were wondering what could possibly get Donald Trump out of this race, the answer is very simple: if less people start to like him.
Yes, as Trump told Chuck Todd today, he would very probably drop out of the 2016 race if he drops in the polls.
“I’m not a masochist,” he said, “and if I was dropping in the polls where I saw I wasn’t gonna win, why would I continue?”
Thankfully for all of us, Trump is still doing well in the polls (though his huge lead has shrunk) and unless he is somehow capable of saying something that will finally offend the people who like him, he’ll be around for a while.
