A 95-year-old man recently had to put his wife of one year into a nursing home. Bill Palmer felt lonely so he did want anyone would do, and called his favorite radio station to connect with someone, Metro reported.
Bill and his wife Sheila were married last year, but had known each other for 30 years. Sheila’s husband died a few years ago, and Bill took over the role of caregiver before they got married. Last year she fell, and was moved into a nursing home, Metro reported.
Palmer told listeners that she suffers from dementia, but still remembers him. His call resonated with listeners, and the crew from BBC Radio Solent.
