Just when you thought Putin’s demonstrations of shock and awe couldn’t get any better, he steps up his game in a huge way. Tourists will soon be allowed to book guided tours of the Syrian battlefront against ISIS.
A Russian company by the name of Megapolis Ltd., is expecting to receive approval to launch tours from Moscow to Syria in early 2016 where tourists can live on the front lines of the battle against ISIS for up to 5 days.
This new trend in tourism will give a whole new meaning to the term, “guided tour”.
According to Anatoly Aronov, president of The First Patent Company, Megapolis Ltd., has already contacted the Syrian Embassy in Russia and relevant ministries in preparation for their battle front tours.
The official name being given to the insane vacation is the, “Assad Tour”, named after Syria’s President. Tourists will be able to see what life is like first hand for Russian soldiers doing battle with ISIS. Talks with hotels and transport companies in Syria are already underway.
Aronov added, “Despite the crisis in the tourism industry, there are always people, who are willing to combine the cognitive goals with the opportunity to see natural disasters or visit the places located near the wariness”.
Since the beginning of the civil war in Syria five years ago, over 220,000 people have been killed and approximately 7.6 million have been displaced internally. That doesn’t included the 4 million who have fled the country.
