One veteran group is coming out against GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump, stating they will not accept any donations from the billionaire.
The Trump campaign opted to host a fundraising event for veterans at the Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, instead of attending Thursday’s GOP debate. Many have speculated the reason for Trump’s decision was related to his ongoing feud with debate moderator Megyn Kelly.
Whatever the reason, the founder of the group Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America tweeted he would not welcome money coming from the fundraiser, as they are not interested in being used for political gains.
Iraq and Afganistan Veterans of America founder Paul Rieckhoff tweeted:
If offered, @IAVA will decline donations from Trump's event. We need strong policies from candidates, not to be used for political stunts.
